Metal Expansion Joints
Belflex Single Axial and Double Axial Bellows Type Expansion Joint
Single Axial bellow is the most basic type of Expansion Joint. It is a length of pipe which contains one or series of corrugations/convolutions that is designed in order to deflect piping system movements in different directions. The thickness of the bellows should be able to endure/resist/withstand the pressure of the pipe and at the same time maintain its flexibility.
Double Axial bellow is an expansion joint which is comprised of two bellows with a series of convolutions and is connected/joined by a center pipe spool. This is used for absorbing any combination of lateral, axial, and angular movements of the pipe and also in cases where there is an extreme lateral movement that is too large for a single axial bellow. The double axial bellows assembly also adds more flexibility for the expansion joint.
