Metal Expansion Joints
Belflex High-Pressured Type Expansion Joint
In some piping systems, a huge amount of axial deflection is required. In this case, the bellows are experiencing excessive internal pressure or a phenomena called squirm. Bellows of high-pressured type expansion joint are arranged so that the external surface is exposed to the media, therefore making it externally pressurized. By doing that, the unit can now accept large amounts of axial deflections and thus eliminate the possibility of experiencing squirm.
